Neither Rain, Nor Wind, Nor Heat Will Keep "The Mailbox Guy" From Fixing Your Mailbox
About 5 years ago, I got a letter from Community Standards stating that my mailbox post needed to be painted. I was sure they didn’t know what they were talking about until I went out to the mailbox and saw that my post had been neglected, as well as my mailbox (which was the original box). I immediately painted the post and refurbished my mailbox. Some of my neighbors also received letters and they wanted me to paint theirs too. Alas, the birth of The Mailbox Guy.
My core business changed somewhat about 4 years ago when Sun City approved the Locking Mailboxes. I wasn’t a believer until I installed one at my home, and realized the safety and security of my “junk mail” was no longer a concern. I also realized that I receive important documents throughout the year, especially around tax time, making my so-called junk mail argument invalid. And it’s a pleasure to get my mail when I feel like it, not on the mail delivery schedule. Also, I traveled last summer for 3 weeks, and I did not stop my mail. No one had to retrieve my mail and more importantly, no one had to know I was away. I like that I’m in charge of all the keys – the postal carrier does not have access to my mailbox contents. Only the people that I choose have a key and can retrieve the contents of my mailbox, including mail order medication and small packages.
A third part of my business evolved as mailbox posts in Sun City started to fail at the base, causing the post to be loose and eventually fall over. After resetting numerous posts in our community, I have developed a system to use the existing post and make it work again, saving the residents the cost of buying a new post.
As a Sun City resident, it is important to me that we help each other. I have met so many wonderful people here in our community, made many new friends, connected with other people who also offer services to our neighbors and I will do my part to keep our properties up to the standards we can all appreciate.
I have hundreds of satisfied customers because I take pride in my work and hope to continue to serve Sun City, as more and more residents decide to upgrade their mailboxes and posts. ~ Norm Cohen "The Mailbox Guy"
